Public transport and Covid-19 restrictions
From 1 December 2020, Government advice is to avoid using public transport, unless you are travelling for essential purposes, which includes work, food and medical purposes. This is to support public health and also to help the transport companies to provide space for those who need to travel, including essential frontline workers. Each service is restricted to carrying only 50% of the people who it has space. for.
It is possible that the restriction level will be changed again before New Year - this page will be updated if this happens.
Pre-booking is required on all inter-city trains between 18 December - 6 January. However seats will be unassigned. Read more ...
