Citylink's website has maps of bus-stops on the Dublin, Cork and Clifden routes

Citylink's new-look website has Google maps showing the location of the bus-stop in all towns served by their routes (Galway - Dublin, Galway - Cork and Galway - Clifden).

In most towns, the same bus stop is also used by other bus companies providing regional bus services in the area.   But this is not true in the cities (Galway, Limerick, Cork, Dublin):   see the map of Galway public transport hubs for other major public transport sites in Galway

New daily summer-time Galway - Lahinch service

Galway Bay Executive Travel have started a daily Galway-Lahinch service, between April and 31 October.

Targeted at local commuters and tourists alike, the bus leaves the New Coach Station in Forster Street at 8am, and serves all towns and villages between Galway City and Lahinch, including Oranmore, Clarinbridge, Kinvara, Doorus Cross, Bellharbour, Ballyvaughan, Lisdoonvarna, Doolin / Doolin Pier, Cliffs of Moher, Liscannor and Lahinch.

Hop on/hop off options are available for tourists, and there is a range of one way and return fares for passengers who want public transport between the towns and villages.

Burkes Buses departure point maps

Burkes Buses have launched a new website (http://www.burkesbus.com/), which includes:
  • Google Maps showing the place where their buses leave from in each town,
  • More detailed fare information,
  • TaxSaver ticket information for their services.
Burkes run daily services between Mayo, north Galway and Galway City, along the N17, N83 and N84.

Extra early-morning Galway-Dublin bus service

CityLink have added an extra Galway - Dublin city/airport service from 1 April 2011, leaving Galway at 2:15am every morning and arriving to Dublin airport at 5am.

Train fares - TaxSaver ticket prices rises

Tax-saver train fares are increasing from 1 May 2011. Tickets ordered during April will be valid for use from 1 May, so the new prices will apply to all purchases from now on.
Indicative prices in the Galway area are:
Galway-Athenry
  • Annual: €1,270
  • Monthly: €127.00
Galway-Athlone
  • Annual: €2,670
  • Monthly: €267.00
