  • 18 Dec:  Christmas and New Year bus / train services in Galway - timetable summary
  • 18 Dec:  GoBus non-stop service Galway to Shannon Airport starts today, 3am and 5am, €10, one-hour journey time. 
  • 11 Dec:  City Direct Galway have a new website.
  • 10 Dec:  Citylink - Shopping trip to Enniskillen, €25, 19 Dec. Details

  • 5 Dec:  Christmas Park and Ride starts today - including a free shuttle bus from the Coach Station to Galway Shopping Centre (4 on this map).  Details.
  • 1 Dec:   Retail parks and Shopping Centres map added to GalwayTransport.info  
  • 30 Nov: City Direct #33 - Knocknacarra buses no longer stop outside Kellys (ex Living Room) on Bridge St.  Buses now go via Dock Rd, Spanish Arch, Raven Terrace, instead of Flood / Bridge / Dominic Streets.  Updated route map.
  • 4 Nov:  Irish Rail 2010 timetable now online - Galway highlights here 
  • 1 Nov: Councils sponsoring a Walking & Cycling Strategy for the city: consultation on Sat 7 Nov, at Eyre Square Shopping Centre. Details here.

  • 1 Oct:  CityLink introduce Galway/Dublin/Dublin Airport Direct service, and €5 super-single fare.  Some services still "multi-stop", too.  Details.  
  • 26 Sept:  Galway City Council wants ideas on encouraging use public transport use - input to a bid to the €50 million Smarter Travel Areas competition.  Deadline Fri 2 Oct.   Details

  • 16/17 Sept:  Bus Eireann are at NUIG, giving away student travel vouchers etc.   Details here  
  • 12 Sept:  Regional bus summary map added to GalwayTransport.info  
  • 4 Sept: Iarnród Éireann special services for All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final in Croke Park on Sun 6th, ex Galway 7:55am.   Book ahead.
  • 29-31 Aug: Galway Races Autumn meeting: apparently there are no shuttle buses this time, use 9-Parkmore instead, bus-stop details here.
  • 26 Aug: Electric Picnic special bus from Galway to Stradbally Hall, Laois with Bus Eireann (ex Galway Fri 12 noon) and Citylink (ex Galway Fri 0630). Both return early Mon am. Return fare €35. Book in advance
  • 19 Aug: Free hi-vis jackets are still available from pharmacies for 65+'s. The aim is to promote for safer walking/cycling - details from the RSA.
  • 18 Aug: www.GalwayTransport.info featured in an article in the Connacht Sentinel
  • 17 Aug: Industrial Estates etc map added, along with public-transport directions for main industrial estates and business parks.
  • 14 Aug: Bus Éireann offering limited numbers of €2 seats to/from Dublin and Cork this month - conditions include "no intermediate stops" - book on their new twitter page: http://twitter.com/buseireanndeals.   Deal extended to 15 September.
  • 27 July - Race Week: Express buses for Ballybrit leave Eyre Square, outside the Skeffington Arms Hotel (map), Mon, Tues & Fri from 3pm, Wed, Thus, Sat&Sun from 11am - Adult Return: €8.00. Some delays to regional services on Wed&Thurs. See here for full details.
  • 23 July: Bus to Sligo for the Galway vs Donegal match this Saturday (25 July) - leaves Spiddal 1:30pm, Barna 1:45pm, Galway (Jury's) 2pm. For bookings and information, phone Lally's 091 562 905

  • 16 Jul: Bus Eireann summer sizzlers: €5 adult / €3 child day return between Galway and Claregalway, Oranmore, Moycullen and Barna. Offer applies for a limited time. [Not listed on BE's website: advertised in the Galway Independent today, timeframe not mentioned]
  • 16 Jul: Some Burkes 7am and 5:10pm services canceled for race-week and the next
  • 15 Jul 09: Regional, Airport and Offshore island services added to GalwayTransport.info
  • 11 Jul 09: Citylink: "due to traffic conjestion, we are experiencing delays outbound from Galway. Some services have been delayed 30—45 minutes. We apologise for the inconvenience."
