Timetable changes for Bus Éireann route 20 / x20 (Galway / Dublin)

Bus Eireann have announced timetable changes on Route 20/X20, Dublin to Galway, via Athlone and Ballinasloe, effective from Sunday 11 September 2016.


Changes are:
  • A new bus at 5:30am, Monday to Friday, from Dublin city (Busarus) via Dublin Aipport to Galway.   This bus is non-stop between Dublin Airport and Athlone, and then operates the existing 7:15am multi-stop service between Athlone and Galway.   Total journey time is 3 hours 20 minutes.
  • A new bus at 5:30am, Monday to Friday, from Galway to Dublin city.  This bus is multi-stop between Galway and Kinnegad, and non-stop from there to Heuston Station.  It does not serve Dublin Airport.  Total journey time is 3 hours 25 minutes.
  • A new bus leaving Dublin city at 4:30pm on Friday, to Galway, via Dublin Airport, and stopping at all intermediate stops.   Total journey time is 4 hours 10 minutes.
  • The 8:30am bus from Dublin city to Galway changes to multi-stop  (was non-stop until Athlone). 
  • The Mon-Fri 7am Galway to Athlone service and 9:05am 5pm Athlone to Galway multi-stop services, via  Athlone I.T., Ericsson and Athlone Dept of Education are cancelled.
  • The Mon-Fri 2:30pm Galway to Athlone and 5pm Athlone to Galway multi-stop service, via  Athlone I.T., Ericsson and Athlone Dept of Education is cancelled.
