- Route 403 - Galway city to Parkmore via Mervue and Castlepark is cancelled.
- Route 401 is extended to travel between Salthill (Rockbarton Rd), Eyre Square and on to Parkmore via Monivea Rd and Castlepark.
Features of the new route 401 - Salthill - Parkmore Industrial service
- Services are once every 20 minutes for the entire day (route 403 was previously every 30 minutes in the daytime, and every 60 minutes in the evening, and 401 was every 40 minutes in the evening).
- The first route 401 bus in morning leaves Parkmore at 6:05am and Salthill at 6am Monday to Saturday, and at 7:25am / 7:20am.
- Services run in the evening until 11:45pm, seven days a week.
- This is a through-route service - so it is possible to get on the bus in Salthill and travel all the way to Parkmore for the one bus-fare.
(Technically, since the journey is longer than 7.5km, it is supposed to be at the higher "green zone" rate. But in practise, Bus Éireann have only been charging this on the Oranmore buses.)
- The bus stops at Mervue shops that were served by route 403 are not listed on the 401 timetable - but so far the 401 bus is still calling to them. The closest alternative stops are on the Monivea Rd just up from the intersection with Michael Collins Rd (route 401), or on Michael Collins Rd outside Medtronic Mervue (route 405).
Route 401-Parkmore buses will leave from bus stop 7, at the east side of Eyre Square, opposite O'Connells. (Marked 7 on the Galway city bus stops map).
