Park and Ride

The Galway City park and ride service will run until Christmas Eve - click here for more information about it.

Thursday 21 and Friday 23 December

All services will run a normal weekday timetable in Galway.

Saturday 23 December

All services will run a normal Saturday timetable in Galway.

Sunday 24 December 

City Buses

• Bus Éireann will run a regular Sunday service in Galway City, except that the last bus on each route is
• 401 - Salthill:  last bus from Eyre Square, 7:20pm.   Last return 7:39pm
• 402:  Last bus from either end of the route  (Merlin Park and Seacrest ) to Eyre Square only, at 8pm.
• 403:  Last bus to Ballybrit at 7:15pm.   Last bus from Ballybrit at 7:45pm.
• 404:  Last bus from either end of the route  (Newcastle and Oranmore ) to Eyre Square only, is  at 7:40pm
• 405:   Last bus from either end of the route  (Ballybane and Rahoon )  to Eyre Square only is at 7:20pm
• 407:  Last bus to Bóthan an Chóiste at 7:15pm.   Last return bus at 7:45pm.
• 409:  Last bus to Parkmore at 8pm.   Last return at 8:30pm.

• CityDirect:   
• 411:  Sunday timetable until the last 6:15pm bus from Eyre Square.
• 410: no service
• 412 and 414:  Sunday timetable, ie no service

Regional buses   

• Burkes:  last bus to Galway at 4:10pm, last bus from Galway at 5:10pm.  
• Bus Eireann will run regular Sunday services until approx 9pm only
• Bus Feda - reduced service (only 2 buses to Galway)
• Bus4U - regular Sunday services, plus a 12-noon bus from Roscommon and a 6:30pm bus from Galway
• BusLink: last bus to Galway at 2pm, last bus from Galway at 4pm.  Nitelink buses will not operate
• CityLink:   8:15pm and 9:15pm bus from Galway-Dublin-Dublin Airport will not run.
• GoBus:   Regular services until the last bus from Galway at 3:45pm.   Regular buses from Dublin to Galway until 6:45pm, and then a last bus at 9pm.

Trains

• Sunday timetable, except:
  5pm Galway/Heuston  and 8:30pm  Heuston/Galway and are cancelled.
  6.15pm Limerick/Galway delayed until 6:25pm
  A 5pm Galway/Athlone train will run.

Monday 25 December - Christmas Day

• The 12:30am Citylink bus from Dublin Airport to Galway will operate 
• All other services (trains and city and regional buses) are cancelled. 
• Some taxi companies will offer a limited service - but many will be closed.

Tuesday 26 December - St Steven's Day

City Buses

• Bus Eireann will run a regular Sunday service on all routes in Galway City
• CityDirect - regular Sunday service on all routes.

Regional buses: 

• Burkes - limited service
• Bus Eireann - limited service on expressway routes, and no service on all commuter / stage-carriage routes - see their timetable for details of specific buses.
• Bus Feda - No service  
• Bus4U - regular Sunday services, plus a 12-noon bus from Roscommon and a 6:30pm bus from Galway
• BusLink - Sunday service from 10am
• CityLink:  regular service, except the 12:30am bus from Galway will not run
• GoBus - slightly reduced service

Trains

• No trains will run

Wednesday 27 December

City buses

• Bus Eireann will run a regular weekday service in Galway City
• CityDirect - no service on route 410, Saturday service on all other routes

Regional buses   

• Burkes - limited service
• Bus Eireann - weekday service on all regional routes
• Bus Feda - regular service
• Bus4U - regular weekday service
• BusLink - weekday service from 8am.  No 6:30pm bus to Galway or 7:15pm from Galway
• CityLink:  regular service
• GoBus - slightly reduced service

Trains

• Trains will run a normal weekday service, with some changes

Thursday 28 December

City buses

• Bus Eireann will run a regular weekday service in Galway City
• CityDirect - no service on route 410, Saturday service on all other routes

Regional buses

• Bus4U - regular weekday service

Tuesday 2 January - Day after New Year's

City Buses

• Bus Eireann will run a regular weekday service in Galway City
• CityDirect - Saturday timetable for the rest of this week, plus a 7am bus from Cappagh Rd.  Return to regular weekday services from next Monday.

Regional buses   

• Burkes - regular service from today onwards
• Bus Eireann - regular service on all regional routes
• Bus Feda - regular service
• Bus4U - to be advised
• BusLink - to be advised
• CityLink:  regular service
• GoBus - regular service
